Seattle In-Person Taolu (forms)
December 14-19, 2026
All students will participate
You will have the opportunity to compete in 3 divisions of your choice. You will perform your submissions during class and receive your awards in January.
You will receive two scores; quality of movement and execution.
Quality of movement score is based on your mastery of the fundamentals; stances, posture, technique. You will be placed in divisions based on your quality of movement score.
Execution is based on the aesthetics and values like; speed, power and body mechanics.
International Online Taolu (forms)
December 1-19, 2026
All ages, not mandatory
You will have the opportunity to compete in 3 divisions of your choice. Take a video of your form and submit it online. Your instructors will provide the link as the date approaches. Awards will be sent in January.

Seattle In-Person SanShou (sparring)
February 8-12
Teens and advanced youths, not mandatory
Bouts will be organized smoker style, arranged matches, with another student of similar size and experience. There will be no head contact and light contact to the body. All protective equipment will be provided except protective cup and mouth guard.
Round 1: athlete’s choice; point spar, sumo, shuaijiao, fencing
Round 2: athlete’s choice; point spar, sumo, shuaijiao, fencing
Round 3: continuous sparring or point spar
Round 4: sanshou or continuous spar
Taolu and Sparring
June 13
anyone may register $20 per division
Location and time TBA. We will be hosting a small one day competition for athletes to compete in the divisions they enjoy. Awards will be available the same day.
